Street Watch is a community platform where neighbors help neighbors. These guidelines ensure everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. Our community thrives when we treat each other with kindness and consideration.

- Treat everyone with courtesy and respect
- Disagree politely without personal attacks
- Remember there’s a real person behind every message
- Respect different opinions and perspectives
2. Protect Privacy
- Don’t share others’ personal information without permission
- Respect privacy settings and preferences
- Keep private conversations private
- Report any privacy violations immediately
3. Be Helpful and Constructive
- Share useful information about community safety
- Offer assistance to neighbors when appropriate
- Keep discussions relevant and on-topic
- Use clear, professional language
🚫 Prohibited Content
The following are strictly prohibited:
❌ Harassment & Hate Speech
No bullying, threats, hate speech, or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
❌ Spam & Scams
No unsolicited advertising, pyramid schemes, phishing attempts, or repetitive unwanted messages.
❌ Inappropriate Content
No explicit sexual content, graphic violence, or content that would be inappropriate in a professional neighborhood setting.
❌ Privacy Violations
Don’t share others’ phone numbers, addresses, photos, or personal information without explicit permission.
❌ Misinformation
Don’t spread false information that could cause harm or panic in the community.
❌ Promoting Illegal Activity
Don’t promote, facilitate, or engage in illegal activities. However, reporting suspicious activity, warning neighbors about crimes, or discussing safety concerns is encouraged and is the core purpose of Street Watch.
⚖️ Consequences
We take violations seriously. Depending on the severity, consequences may include:
1️⃣ First Offense: Warning
Minor violations receive a formal warning explaining the issue.
2️⃣ Temporary Chat Ban (1-30 days)
Repeated or moderate violations result in temporary inability to send chat messages. You can still view content and use other features.
3️⃣ Permanent Ban
Severe violations (harassment, illegal content, repeated offenses) may result in permanent removal from chat features.
📢 How to Report Violations
If you see content that violates these guidelines:
- Tap the message to open options
- Select ‘Report Message’
- Choose the reason for your report
- Our administrators will review within 24-48 hours
All reports are confidential and reviewed by human administrators.
🙋 Appeal Process
If you believe your account was banned in error:
- Contact an administrator directly
- Explain your situation calmly and respectfully
- Provide any relevant context
- We will review your appeal within 48-72 hours
